We focused on the secondary colors, painting with control and mixing two colors to get a new color. We began by dividing our paper into six equal parts and then traced one large, one medium and one small circle in the center of each box. We traced the drawing with black crayon. Then we began to paint neatly using only the primary colors of paint and filled in three boxes. Then we practiced mixing the primaries to create the secondary colors. The last three boxes were painted using the secondary colors that we made. This lesson idea was found at jamestownelementaryartblog.blogspot.com.
