We first drew a loopy line horizontally along the top of our paper and then added the rectangles for clothespins. I then gave each child a mitten pattern to trace under each of the clothespins.
They then chose two different lines for each mitten to create an alternating pattern. I encouraged them to alternate their patterns from horizontal to vertical. We traced our drawing with black marker and colored with crayon.
For this lesson idea, I was inspired by a piece of art I found on thepaintbar.com
