Today first grade started a crayon resist. We started with two different sized ovals and traced each three times. Then we turned each oval into a fish by adding heads, fins and tails. We traced our drawing with black permanent marker and colored three of our six fish in each of the primary colors. Next time we will mix the primaries to make the three secondaries and paint watercolor for the background. I can't wait to see how they turn out. Thanks to Trica Mucklow from Churchill Elementary, Oswego, IL for sharing this lesson on Artsonia.com.
