We used tempera cakes to paint six equal boxes on a 9 x 12" paper in all six colors on the color wheel. During the same class we gadget stamped with black tempera around the edge of a 9 x 12" paper to create frame.
The second class was spent assembling our color wheel. We traced a variety of leaf patterns onto the back of each color and cut out. Then arranged them in a color wheel and glued down. The final step was to use oil pastels to add veins to each leaf. The finished product was beautiful. The kids were blown away with how great these looked. This is a lesson I will do again next year!
Thanks to Alum Creek for sharing such a beautiful lesson.
