The first step is to break a paper plate up into six equal triangles to paint a six part color wheel using tempera paint. Then on a second paper plate we cut the middle out and draw our initials in Chinese Characters and use the left over plate parts to cut curved shapes that resemble flower petals. We glue our Chinese character circle to the center of the painted color wheel and the plate petals to the back. The final step was to glue tissue paper petals to the back to add more color.
I then strung up each students piece into a long dragon body and added a head and claws. You can find the finished collaboration piece at http://mrsjacksonartbd.weebly.com/
