This is a quick successful one class drawing lesson. We did a draw-a-long but I didn't tell my classes what we were drawing. We started with the ears, face shape and then the facial features. I had everyone use a black marker for their drawing so no "mistakes" could be erased. Then I encouraged first grade to use unrealistic colors to color in their cat portrait completely. Then each drawing was cut out leaving a small white edge around the black marker. The final step was glued onto black construction paper. I found this drawing lesson idea from: http://artrageousafternoon.blogspot.com/2010/02/arent-these-fun.html#links
